Make this tasty Air Fryer Roasted Garlic, perfectly made in the Air Fryer or Ninja Foodi!

Air Fryer Roasted Garlic is simple to prepare and a delicious addition to air-fried vegetables, like Air Fryer Carrots, or blended into sauces, spreads, and dressings. Roasted garlic adds mellow, sweet garlic flavor to soups, pastas, hummus, and more.

Garlic is nutritious and versatile, and roasting it concentrates its flavor and softens the cloves so they can be spread, mashed, or mixed into recipes.

Tips for Making Air Fryer Roasted Garlic:

You can make this recipe in any air fryer or in the Ninja Foodi using the Air Crisp function. If your air fryer is large enough, roast multiple heads at once—just leave room for airflow.

Lightly coat the cut top of the garlic with a high-heat oil spray such as grapeseed oil, then place the head on a sheet of foil and fold the foil up around it, leaving the top slightly open. This protects the garlic while allowing it to roast.

Air fryers vary, so check the garlic the first time you roast to avoid overcooking. Start with the recommended time, then adjust as needed for your model.

How long does roasted garlic last?

Store roasted garlic in an airtight container in the refrigerator. It will typically keep for 1–2 weeks. Use the soft roasted cloves as a spread, mash them into dressings or dips, or mince them for recipes that call for garlic.

Can you use foil in an Air Fryer or Ninja Foodi?

You can use foil safely in most air fryers and in the Ninja Foodi. Make sure the foil is tucked and not blocking airflow—leave the edges open so air can circulate. For this recipe, do not seal the foil completely; leave the top slightly open so the garlic roasts rather than steams.

Roasting garlic in the air fryer is faster and easier than using a conventional oven. There’s no need to preheat—place the prepared garlic in the basket and cook until the cloves are soft and lightly golden.
