Equipment

  • One large deep skillet or Dutch oven

Ingredients

  • 1 yellow onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 TBS cooking oil
  • 3 tsp Better Than Bouillon, beef flavor
  • 2 1/2 cups hot water
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1-2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 TBS cornstarch
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 12 oz uncooked egg noodles

Instructions

  • Heat the oil in a large deep skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add the diced onion and green pepper and cook until softened and lightly browned. Add the ground beef and cook until no longer pink. Drain any excess grease.
  • Combine the Better Than Bouillon with the hot water, stirring until dissolved. Pour this beef broth into the skillet with the browned beef. Stir in Worcestershire sauce and the milk.
  • Whisk in the garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and cornstarch until smooth. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil so it begins to thicken.
  • Add the uncooked egg noodles and stir to coat them well with the sauce. Reduce the heat to low, cover the skillet, and simmer for 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally and checking the liquid level so the noodles don’t stick. Cook until the noodles are tender and the sauce has thickened. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired and serve warm.
